Wednesday PM
What a wonderful afternoon! We had fun at the beach, the pool and just hanging out with friends. Here are pictures. Lots of pictures.

Dinner was good: bar-b-que, potatoes, corn, and cheesecake. We highly recommend the cheesecake.

Dr. Caner taught us on the exclusivity of the gospel

The statement “there is only one way to heaven” is the most
offensive statement a Christian can say. But if there was more than one way,
then Jesus died as an option, not as a necessity.
We have to settle the question “What are you doing about the gospel?” The
great commission is for every one of us. We are all called to ministry regardless
of what our occupation. I will share the gospel in my city, around my city,
in my country and throughout the world.
Why (humanly speaking) do people reject the gospel?
When I say there is one way to heaven I am acknowledging that there is truth. We want people in our life to be narrow minded – a mechanic who has one way to fix my car, a pharmacist who will give us the exact medicine we need, our banker who we expect to keep our account in only one way. What about narrow minded Christians who believe in exactly one way to heaven?
Can someone be good and reject the gospel of Christ? NO! Until we have Jesus inside us we have nothing good in any of us.
In Acts 26:24-32 we see Paul presenting a very exclusive gospel to a bunch
of people who ultimately reject that gospel.
Can someone be good and reject God? No
3 reasons people reject the gospel:
1. A scornful mind. People don’t want to believe that there is only
one way to heaven. It is ALMOST unbelievable. They said that Paul was crazy
for an exclusive gospel. We have to reason with the scripture which reaches
the mind and the heart. The Bible and evangelism make no sense without the
exclusivity of the gospel.
Every other religion leads people astray except one – Christianity.
You will be called names for standing up for Christ…So what?
2. A sarcastic response. To equate someone else’s belief with yours
is the height of arrogance. There are sincere intentions, but wrong motives.
3. A stubborn heart. The apostle Paul presented the gospel for a whole chapter,
then they got up and basically said “OK, let’s go home.” The
gospel didn’t affect them because they were stubborn. We must give
out the gospel, but understand that many will have a stubborn heart and reject
it. Most people don’t want to change.
Our belief is only arrogant if my belief loves me and not you.
There is only one way to heaven. It is worth your life.
It’s not closed yet.
If the cross was optional, why stand for it? We wouldn’t.
Is our devotion deep enough to bring every person we can into the kingdom.
What are we going to do with the gospel?
By the way, much thanks to Amy Hopper for helping with these
teaching notes.

After a short break we enjoyed the Warren Barfield Band.

After the concert we had church share time where each of the churches meet and have a time for testimonies and sharing about what God is doing.
Then it's time for room sharing time and off to bed!!
