Monday Notes
Today was the first day of Vacation Bible School. Today we got to start ministering to the children in the Alexandria. In vacation bible school for the 1st grade through Middle School we are keeping the following schedule (preschool and kindergarten schedules are a little different):
9—9:15 AM Opening Rally
9:15—10 AM Bible Activities
10-11:30 Rotations (Recreation/Snacks/Music/Crafts)
11:30—Noon Wrap-Up Bible Activities
12—12:30 Worship Rally
There were 17 children at VBS today so the workers outnumbered the kids about 2-to-1. We had fun and learned a lot anyway.
After VBS, we had lunch at the church.
Since we had so few kids, some of the youth prepared the evangelism packets during VBS time. Then we spent the afternoon passing out evangelism packets that that have information about the church.
After supper (and by the way Mrs. Pam Morgan is doing an excellent job of feeding us) we left for our first site-seeing in Washington DC.
We stayed out seeing the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean Memorial and some of the other sights in Washington. It didn’t leave much time for putting much on this update so come back to check for more info on Monday VBS and sightseeing later. Here is a picture of us as we got to the subway station this afternoon.
